In the meanwhile, I'd say that I didn't find the Viognier in the mix to be at all oppressive or domineering, perhaps a welcome side-effect of co-fermentation. I have another bottle or two, so I'll do my best to hold one and report back at a future date. Or pop on over to Philly for a visit and I'll share it with you.David McDuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03274955351036700406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017457764988110566.post-58666781874728073152011-01-04T20:58:02.786-05:002011-01-04T20:58:02.786-05:00Hullo, McDuff-- a very Happy New Year to ya! Brought a btl of LCF's '08 Mourvèdre from NYC & am second-guessing myself as to appropiate timing & occasion.
Very curious about the white- folk wisdom has it Viognier can be aromatically overhwelming to Rousanne, wondering how it may all integrate & would hope for a chance to push the envelope on cellar aging if I can get my hands on the juice...viNomadichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10871310275756229282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017457764988110566.post-35035831625021756482010-06-17T15:49:18.099-04:002010-06-17T15:49:18.099-04:00Hey Ben,

The wines are occasionally available at CSW in Tribeca. The best source, though, is direct from La Clarine. You can sign up for their mailing list via their website. Production averages about 60-70 cases per wine, sometimes less, so there's not much to go around.

As suggested in DoBi's comment, the Rhône white is currently being offered in a mixed six-pack for Jeremy's wine club. I don't know what his shipping range is, but here's the link: http://2bianchi.com/2010/06/15/california-natural-wine-that-i-really-dig/

Jeremy,

No worries. It's weird and amazing how often we seem to be on the same page at very much the same moment. As I've said so many times before, there's a standing invitation for y'all (I'm an adherent to the more traditional spelling) here in Philly.

A visit to Hank's place is on my list of things to do and places to see, too. I've never explored that part of California before.David McDuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03274955351036700406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017457764988110566.post-38958028184478350762010-06-16T15:01:06.954-04:002010-06-16T15:01:06.954-04:00dude, thanks for the shout out and wow Half Japane...dude, thanks for the shout out and wow Half Japanese is so awesome! We SO need to hang and listen and taste together man!

Hank's wines blew me away and I was very geeked to offer them to my club. It's so hard to find them in California because he sells out right away... Never met the man but he was so generous with his time on the phone... great guy... can't wait to visit his place (maybe post Nov election?)...Do Bianchihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12744434741371288465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8017457764988110566.post-73024267837490234532010-06-16T13:59:25.941-04:002010-06-16T13:59:25.941-04:00Mdcuff,
